Loving a person or something like worshiping, is shirk (associating partners to Allah).

Loving, or regarding someone or something like loving Allah is shirk (al-Araf [7] 189-190; al-Baqkara [2] 165; at-Tawba [9] 24). Of course, other people or other things can be loved together with Allah (al-Baqara [2] 165). However, at the centre and in the first place of our lives should always be the Allah. Allah should not be pushed into second place.
