By some muslims, especially Sufis, says it is claimed that laughing is forbidden in Islam, however, the Quran doesn’t mention it, there is no evidence of this in the Quran. In the Quran, it is the ones who laugh at Muslims that are actually sinners and feed on sins. (al-Mutaffifin 83:29). Likewise, the ones that don’t laugh much and cry a lot as a result of what they do are not Muslims, but hypocrites (munâfiq). (at-Taubah 9:82). Furthermore, the Hadith, that supposedly proves that laughter “kills” the heart, is not authentic / genuine (maudû’). (al-‘Ajluni, Kashf al-Khafa, Aleppo, II, 106 [1915]). From an Islamic point of view we draw the following conclusion – there is no objection against laughing.
