How many people killed the camel?

The camel was given to Salehs people by Allah as a test. However, it was killed. In reference to how many people killed the animal is
often considered a contradiction due to the fact that in some verses of the Quran the singular (54/29; 91/12) is used, and in other verses the plural is used (7/77; 11/65; 26/157; 91/14). But the issue with verse 91/12 is explicit: “As the unfortunate amongst you arose…” However, many had gathered and decided to kill the camel, but only one of them bloodthirstily carried it out. The carrying out of the decision by one person, that was made by more than one person shows that not only they are responsible for it. Then this person carried out what was in accordance with the collective gathering. The use of the singular on the one hand and of the plural on the other, didn’t lead to a contradiction, as the man actually did what had been decided together even if only one person carried it out, all of them would be responsible in truth for the killing of the camel.
